Police to auction found and seized property

MADISON – Anyone wanting to bid on a pair of Versace sunglasses and a two-cycle weed trimmer soon will have a chance.

Madison Police Department will conduct a public auction of collected and found merchandise on Aug. 31 from 8 to 10 a.m. on the south side of Madison City Hall, 100 Hughes Road.

The department will dispose of the items, in accordance with Madison City Code Section 10-57 and Ordinance 92-95. The property will be sold as-is. Individuals can pay only by cash, and all sales are final.

A wide variety of goods will be up for auction. Electronics will include XBOX 360 and Blue Nintendo DS video game systems; several Apple iPods in 8, 16, 30 gigabyte and nano capacity, along with chargers and ear buds; Kodak C300 and C180 and Samsung A402 digital cameras and memory cards; and a Sony Handycam video camera.

Cell phones at auction will be Samsung Blackjack II and Galaxy SII models; Blackberry 8330; three Net10 prepaid phones in box; and chargers.

For automobiles, bidders can browse a Magellan Roadmate 1440 GPS and charger, Panasonic in-dash CD player with remote, Cobra Laser 360 Radar Detector and Garmin Street Pilot GPS.

Entertainment pieces at auction will be a Bose acoustic wave music system, Sony 27-inch Trinitron television, XM Radio and Panasonic home theater receiver.

Among jewelry pieces are silver- and gold-colored rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Watch brands are Fossil, Rolex replicas, Citizen, Movado, Swiss, Victorinox, Wittnauer and Seiko.

Officers have collected several models of bicycles: Black Mongoose Axe bike, Green Huffy Stone mountain bike, Red Next wipeout, Blue Magna Mudshark, Blue Next Dynohex and Schwinn models.

Other miscellaneous merchandise includes a blue Callaway golf bag and Fusion FT-I driver, Crain carpet stretcher, 750-watt DC-to-AC power inverter, Black & Decker 120-volt jigsaw and 18-volt cordless drill and Buck 105 Pathfinder knife with sheath.
