MADISON – For the fourth year, Inside-Out Ministries is participating in the Feinstein Anti-Hunger Challenge.

“Whatever is donated to Inside-Out during March and April means even more to us as the Feinstein Foundation will contribute a portion of $1 million,” Inside-Out Director of Operations Deborah Ward said.

“While it’s not a one-to-one match, the amount we receive increases by percentage,” Ward said. “The good thing about this is that food items count as $1 each, so every can of chicken, every package of spaghetti counts as if someone donated cash.”

For the past 16 years, foundation founder Alan Shawn Feinstein has been giving away $1 million each year to anti-hunger agencies throughout the country (feinsteinfoundation.org). He lives in Cranston, R.I.

“This year, I am doing it again,” Feinstein said in a letter to Inside-Out. “Please use my money to help your neighbors in need.”

In his letter, Feinstein stated, “I believe each of us was put here on earth to do what we can to help those in need. My money started this campaign, but it is you who will help decide how many needy people in your city or town will be fed this year.”

Feinstein calls his foundation “the greatest grass-roots campaign ever to fight hunger in our country. Your donation makes you a partner in it with me.”

“All that will matter to us someday is what we did while we were here to help those in need,” Feinstein said.
