MADISON – The third annual Derby Days on May 3 has been cancelled.

This year, the city’s park and recreation department was responsible for the event, which has been Madison’s tribute to the Kentucky Derby.

Organizers posted this statement on Facebook/Derby Days on April 30:

“Due to the storms earlier this week, many businesses and individuals will be directing their efforts to help with the tornado damage. As a result, Madison Derby Days will be cancelled.

Hope to see everyone at next year’s event! Many thanks to our sponsors who so graciously wanted to participate. Like to give a shout-out to Landers McLarty and Opie Balch Realty for always being ready and willing to support us.”
