A walk to remember

From The Publisher

Let’s go for a walk to help save lives.

The Huntsville chapter of the March of Dimes is hosting a March for Babies Walk on Saturday, April 18 at 9 a.m.

The 2015 event will be held at HudsonAlpha McMillian Park in Huntsville.

This walk will have a major effect on several families in our community.

The March of Dimes’ mission is to help moms have full-term pregnancies, support families in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.

The March for Babies Walk is intended to be a fun day out with people passionate about improving the health of babies.

The walk will comprise family teams, company teams and individuals walking to support this tremendous cause.

A friend and fellow Rotary Club of Madison member, Morris Lilienthal, is leading Team Will during this event.

Morris and his wife Shannon started Team Will in 2013 to honor their first son, Will Lilienthal.

Staff writer Nick Sellers reported recently Team Will “raised over $7,500 last year as family, friends and others close to the Lilienthals participated in the walk at Bridge Street.”

The Lilienthals and others’ commitment to raise money and serve families that are experiencing similar circumstances are true testaments of character and faith.

This is a wonderful cause for participation and support through donations.

To help support Team Will through donations or participation, please visit the Team Will Facebook page.

So don’t just walk, please run to the March of Dimes webpage to register.

We wish great success for all of the teams and individuals participating this year.
