MADISON – Two members of the Bob Jones soccer team, which is the No. 1 team in Alabama, signed on the dotted line to continue their athletic careers after high school.

Eduvie Ikoba, forward for the Patriots, signed with Dartmouth College and Quentin Boric, goalie, made it official with Tennessee Wesleyan College.

The Patriots head coach, Uwe Spiller, praised the play of the seniors, calling them “50 percent” of the team.

Boric made special mention of the closeness he shares with Ikoba, his “best friend.”

“We practiced together in the pouring rain, scorching heat and freezing conditions,” Boric said, adding he’ll always remember, “talking about our dreams of playing with the pros.”

Boric thanked his teammates, coaches and parents for helping him in his athletic career. Boric’s father, Tom, played for the Calgary Boomers and Tampa Bay Rowdies of the old North American Soccer League and is known as Paul Diamond, his ring name during his time with the World Wrestling Foundation (WWF), now the WWE.

Ikoba thanked his family, including his parents and older brother, Daniel, who also played soccer.

“My parents sacrificed a lot of time and money to help me play, so thank you,” Ikoba said.

Dartmouth is located in Hanover, N.H. and is one of eight Ivy League institutions.

“Although I had offers from other schools, Dartmouth’s combination of academics and a top-25 soccer program made it the right place,” Ikoba said.
