Air Force Airman Gavin R. Povey graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Povey is the son of Diana Morgan of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and Robert Povey and Valerie Povey of Madison, Ala. He is also the grandson of Ronald Morgan of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
The airman graduated in 2014 from Sault Area High School, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
