Fireworks display caps off Trash Pandas first block party
“We are thrilled to finally share this beautiful stadium with the people who have supported us for so long,” said Trash Pandas president and CEO Ralph Nelson.
The fun event was capped off by a spectacular fireworks show.
“Young and old had a blast checking out the stadium,” said Melanie Kolowski, who attended the event. “The fireworks were fantastic! I am looking forward to getting back to the stadium soon!”
With the 2020 Minor League Baseball season in limbo due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Madison’s $46 million stadium has sat largely empty since construction wrapped up this spring. Now that restrictions on events have eased up recently, the Trash Pandas are hosting a series of events and youth baseball camps at Toyota Field.
The Trash Pandas will host a movie night this Friday at 7 p.m. They will be showing “Angels in the Outfield” on the stadium’s big videoboard. Gates open at 6 p.m. (click here for more information).
There are also a series of baseball camps for area youth, ages 7-14, scheduled through June. The camps will be held June 15-16 and June 22-23, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
“The camps are designed to be an all-day experience which will provide campers with the next level knowledge of baseball,” said Josh Caray, director of broadcasting and baseball information for the Trash Pandas. “These camps are crafted for those who want a more advanced and technical baseball experience.”

If you missed Saturday’s event, a second block part event will be held at Toyota Field on June 19. It too will conclude with a massive fireworks display. Classic ballpark fare and beverages will be available for purchase, and parking is free. Gates open at 5 p.m.
Admission is $10 per person and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online at trashpandasbaseball.com/events.
